One Room Challenge - Curtains!

I did it! I actually managed to get all of the curtains sewn for my living room - six lined curtains. I'm beginning to feel like I may actually meet the One Room Challenge Deadline. That's if my sofa upholstery doesn't get derailed. Unfortunately there are some creases in the velvet. My upholsterer is going to try to work around them, but I may have to return the fabric and wait on a new bolt. Ugh. In other good news the chair I ordered from West Elm is arriving on Saturday. Tomorrow, I'm going to check out some estate sales and a few of my favorite thrift stores for a table to put behind the sofa and (if lightning strikes) a pair of chairs for the seating area by the window.

Now back to the curtains!

I love the color! They are neutral but visually interesting. They really soften the edges of the room and make the large space feel cozy.

My assistant likes them too! I promised her they wouldn't block her view. I can't wait to bring in the sofa and chair. I also need to address the big blank wall in the hall and swap out the fabric in my secretary. Not to mention a couple of furniture refurbishing projects! 

This is what the inside of the secretary currently looks like. I LOVE this fabric but it doesn't work in the room. 

The new fabric is adds a pop of color and works well with the room's soft palette.
