Hoarding Vintage Art

I love original art because I like having things in my home that are creative, unique, and original. Unfortunately a lot of the art I like is expensive. Although my husband and I have invested in several paintings by artists we love, I try to mix those more expensive pieces with less expensive ones bought at street markets on vacation, found in thrift stores or at estate sales, or artwork created by our children. Gallery walls continue to be popular and are a great way to showcase your favorite new and old pieces.

All of these gallery walls incorporate vintage art like paint by numbers and needlework. These pieces work so well because they adds texture, color, and just the right amount of kitsch.

Some of my favorite vintage finds hang in my daughter's room.

I don't want to encourage tobacco use, but I couldn't resist this little bunny and his fluffy tale!

These sweet pairs flank the large window in my daughter's room.

Its hard for me not to a great this stuff when I see it. To avoid becoming a crazy cat lady - except instead of cats I bring home stray needlepoints and paint by numbers - I've decided to sell a few of the needlework pieces in my stash in my Etsy shop.

I hope they all find their way onto lovely walls! Are you a sucker for a particular thrifty find? I'd love to know that I'm not alone in my hoarding.
