I almost always pick paint colors based on a key design element in the room such as fabric or a rug. I think its much easier to match paint to the perfect fabric than to find fabric to match the perfect paint.
As a reminder, here's the fabric. Even though I'm only using it for one Roman shade on a small window, in my opinion, its the sun around which all other design decisions will be made.
In the mean time, I picked up a mirror at good will that with a little love will look great. Its not exactly a match to the campaign style mirror I had in my design board, but it was only $19! So I'm going to make it work. The size is good and I really like the little brass loop at the top. Its a nice traditional detail that will work well with the traditional vibe of the fabric. Sorry for the picture quality, but you get the idea. I'll probably paint it the same black as the trim.
I'm also trying to decide what to do about the sconces. I really loved the one in my design board but the cost of two is more than $350. Also, I think they'd be too big for the space. I've found a few budget friendly options that I think would work well. What do you think? I'm leaning towards the third or the last option. I'd love to hear your feedback in the comments!
