So more news to share. We sold our house. We put it on the market at the beginning of October to test the waters and were very surprised to receive multiple offers right before Thanksgiving. My husband has a terrible commute so we've been talking about moving for quite some time. In a place like DC (where real estate is pricey) its much easier to buy a new house once your old one has sold, so before looking for our next home we knew we had to sell. We really didn't expect the house to sell in the fall and found ourselves suddenly faced with limited inventory in the areas we like. So we are renting for the next six months and hoping something great comes on the market this Spring.

We really liked our last house, but we never loved it. We have a long list of next haves for the next house including an open floor plan, high ceilings, more bedrooms, an office/den for my husband, and a crafting/studio space for me.

We did work hard to make our house our own and completed what seemed like a never ending list of home improvement projects (We have vowed to complete all major renovations/updates to the next house before we move in). Its been fun looking back at all we accomplished and how much the house changed over the 4 years that we lived in it.

We were very lucky to find a wonderful rental for the next six months. Its a four story townhouse that is only five years old. Despite the workout I'm getting on all of the stairs, I am loving the open floor plan, high ceilings and newness of it. The colors work with our stuff and it has a garage to store all of the things we won't need for the next six months.

I am getting used to my new role as stay at home mom and hope to start blogging on a more regular basis. That little girl of mine is keeping me pretty busy so don't expect more than a post a week for now.
