Bitter Sweet

We spent our Saturday evening at a cookout to celebrate the recent engagement of good friends, and the upcoming move to Nebraska of others. It was lovely evening. Babies were passed around, little boys played in the yard; and the grown-ups enjoyed good food, good drink, and good conversation.

Our family brought bottles of wine as gifts for both couples. I didn't have time to sew wine bags, so I decided to print up post cards, write recipes on them, and tie them on to the bottles. A couple of quick searches in google images provided me with just what I was looking for. I cut and paste the images into word, printed them on card stock, and cut them out. I wrote a recipe on the back of each card that included wine as an ingredient.

To thank the hostess, I brought her a bouquet of hydrangeas from my garden. Aren't they beautiful? I can't take any credit for these as they were planted and cared for our home's previous owner. Hopefully they are established enough to survive my black thumb.

That is such a cute idea. Love it! Now I want an excuse to steal it.
